Stillness

When life gets busy and we've had our fill
The Lord will prompt us to sit quietly still
And take just one moment, a moment in time
So we can hear clearly from the heavens divine.

He wants us to listen for he has something to say
Will we stop what we're doing to hear him today?
Or will we keep going, not seeking his will
And not heed the call to sit quietly still?

And when the dark forces rise up to attack,
Will we have any power to fight them all back?

We must take time to listen and take time to yield,
We must stop all we're doing and sit placidly still.
For then we'll have guidance for our busy day,
And the wisdom to face what may come our way.

Be still and know that I am God.
Psalms 46:10
