What's in Your Thanksgiving Basket?
Scripture:
Give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good.
Psalms 107:1, NLT.
During this month, many of us will compile Thanksgiving baskets. In those baskets are food items and monetary gifts to ensure those less fortunate, or those who have come upon hard times during the year, have enough food to enjoy the upcoming holiday.
But as I compile thanksgiving baskets for others, I am reminded to compile a basket of my own. For God has bestowed many wonderful blessings upon me this past year, and I never want to take his benefits for granted. So as I embark upon this season of thanks, here are some items I'm placing in my thanksgiving basket:
- good health
- a sane mind
- patient creditors
- a growing writing ministry
- a loving husband
- healthy children
- supportive extended family
- great attendance at my first two writing seminars
Has God also been good to you this past year? Then be sure to set aside time this holiday season to compile your thanksgiving basket!
Sharing the word,
Jeaninne
