Devotional
I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who remain in me and I in them will produce much fruit, for apart from me, you can do nothing (John 15:5, NLT).
Lately I've missed my quiet time with the Lord. On some mornings I've awakened late and just missed my quiet time, whereas on other mornings I've awoke on time, but allowed distractions to interfere with my time with the Lord.
Could it be that's why I haven't written as consistently as I should? Although I've set a goal to write every day, has my writing been sporadic because my time with the Lord has been sporadic?
Jesus used the illustration of the vine and branch to remind us that we must remain connected to him if we are to be effective in our lives as believers. As we seek to maintain a regular relationship with him through prayer, worship and bible study, he states there will be a direct correlation in the "fruit" that we produce.
If you have been struggling lately with your quality time with the Lord, confess your struggle. Then recommit to developing your relationship again with him. For apart from the "vine", you can do nothing, but attached to it you can do anything!
Sharing the Word,
Jeaninne
Prayer: Heavenly father, forgive me for my inconsistency in my relationship with you. I recommit to spending quality time with you once again so I can produce much fruit for your kingdom.| < Prev | Next > |
