Are You Representing?

Scripture:
And whatsoever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus Christ, all the while giving thanks through him to God the Father.Colossians 3:17, NLT

My daughter and I recently attended Tyler Perry's new movie, Madea's great big happy family. After the movie ended, I asked her what she thought about the excessive profanity Mr. Perry used in his role as Madea , since he professed to be a Christian. After reflecting a moment on her answer, she replied: "Mom, he was just acting?

In his letter to the Colossian believers, the apostle Paul outlined how they were to act since they had become Christians. No matter what they did, said or went, he shared their responsibility was to represent Christ in every aspect and activity of their lives.

My daughter is right - Tyler Perry was just acting in his role of Madea. But whether we're acting, talking, working or playing, our responsibility as believers is to be effective representatives of Jesus Christ at all times, so our lives are reflecting Him.

So whatever you do or say today, don't forget - you are a representative!

Sharing the Word,

Jeaninne

Prayer:
Heavenly father, no matter what roles we play as we go about our daily lives, may we always seek to glorify you.

"Don't change in the dark what
God has told you in the light."
Romans 8:28
