Scripture:
"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." - John 15:33, NLT
Did you hear about the football player who blamed God for dropping an easy game-winning touchdown that would have allowed his team to win an important football game in overtime? Later that evening, he twittered his frustrations to God about what happened: "I praise you 24/7, and this how you do me" "I'll never forgot this! "Ever!!!"
Have you ever found yourself voicing the same words to God? Have you ever been so angry at God because you've served him faithfully, yet he still allowed you to lose your house, your job or your health? The football player shared his feelings publicly, but have you ever privately said these words to God because of what he's allowed to happen in your life: "I serve you 24/7 Lord. Is this how you do me?"
God never promised everything would go smoothly in our lives when we choose to live for Him. Instead, he told us to expect various trials and tribulations as we live the Christian life. Relationships will fail, children will rebel, our health will deteriorate, jobs will end and we may even drop a game-winning ball in the last seconds of an important football game. So is this how God may do us as we faithfully live for Him? Yes, but let's keep praising Him anyway - 24/7!
Sharing the word,
Jeaninne
